AudioFolio
AudioFolio: Merge Voice Notes
Turn separate recordings into one finished piece. Trim recordings, arrange them in order and save one finished audio file, with projects and folders to keep everything easy to find.
Private testing
Not publicly available on the App Store. For iPhone and iPad.
AudioFolio is in private testing. Information on this page reflects the version being prepared for release and may change before it is available.
What AudioFolio does
Bring in voice notes, trim unwanted beginnings and endings, change the order, choose the space between recordings and listen before you save. Assemble lecture notes, interviews, meeting summaries, presentations or your own spoken ideas.
Make your audio fit
- Trim each recording while keeping your original file untouched.
- Arrange recordings in the order you want.
- Choose the gaps between them.
- See waveforms, preview recordings and listen closely to each join.
- Preview the complete project before exporting.
Keep your work organised
- Name your projects and continue your most recent edit from Home.
- Give finished exports their own titles, filenames and notes.
- Create folders such as School, University or Presentations — or name your own.
- Find saved exports with search, then save or share them again.
Choose your finished file
- Export AAC or ALAC M4A, 24-bit or 32-bit float WAV, 24-bit AIFF or 32-bit float CAF.
- Import common formats including M4A, MP3, WAV, AIFF, CAF, FLAC and AAC, subject to your device’s decoder support.
How it works
-
Record or import
Use Quick Record, or import voice notes from Files or another app’s Share menu.
-
Trim
Set where the useful audio starts and ends. The original recording is left untouched.
-
Arrange and check the joins
Put recordings in order, choose the space between them and listen to each join.
-
Listen to the whole piece
Preview the complete project before you export.
-
Export and save
Create a finished snapshot in Saved exports, then use Save to Files / Share for a separate copy.
Record in AudioFolio with Quick Record or import existing audio from Voice Memos, Files or another app. Keep originals in My Recordings, then trim and assemble your project. AudioFolio does not transcribe audio.
Free and Premium
Free and Premium have the same editing tools, six export options and sound quality. Premium adds unlimited new exports and removes ads with one Apple purchase.
Free
- Three successful new exports per Monday-to-Sunday UTC week, shared across projects in this installation.
- Recording, projects and recording time have no app-imposed limit, subject to device limits. Sharing an unmodified original does not use an export.
- Full editing tools, all six export choices and the same export quality as Premium.
- Save or share an existing finished export again without using the allowance.
- Ads support Free: a banner on Home and at most one available ad before output settings for a new finished-export journey. Retrying that journey does not show another ad. Recording, editing and listening stay uninterrupted.
Premium
£8.99 once — planned UK launch price
- Unlimited new exports.
- No ads.
- One payment through Apple. No subscription.
- Apple shows the final price for your App Store region before purchase.
Buying, restoring and refunds
Premium is bought inside AudioFolio through Apple, using your Apple Account. You do not need an AudioFolio or Orbis Meridian account. If you reinstall AudioFolio or use another device signed in to the same Apple Account, use Restore purchases on the Premium page.
Apple handles payment and refunds for App Store purchases. To ask for a refund, use Apple’s Report a Problem page. For anything else, contact AudioFolio support. This does not affect your statutory rights.
AudioFolio is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Six export choices, on both plans
- AAC M4A for compact everyday sharing.
- 24-bit ALAC M4A for lossless M4A.
- 24-bit WAV or 32-bit float WAV for further editing.
- 24-bit AIFF or 32-bit float CAF for compatible audio workflows.
Lossless options require a common source sample rate. AAC accepts mixed rates within its supported headroom. AAC and 24-bit output cannot preserve above-full-scale audio; float WAV/CAF can preserve that headroom at a common sample rate. AAC uses lossy compression. A 24-bit export can reduce the precision of floating-point sources. Lossless output cannot restore detail already lost in a source.
Your recordings and privacy
- Audio processing and projects stay on your device.
- No app account is required.
- Saving or sharing sends audio to the destination you choose.
- Advertisements in Free use Google’s advertising service.
- Projects are saved locally and are not synced between devices. Keep your original recordings, and save important finished files to Files for a separate copy.

Questions
Can I export recordings with different sample rates?
Yes, using AAC when the audio fits its supported headroom. Lossless export options (ALAC, WAV, AIFF and CAF) require the imported recordings to share the same sample rate.
Which files can’t be imported?
Copy-protected (DRM) audio cannot be imported. AudioFolio does not remove or bypass copy protection.
For unprotected recordings you own or have permission to edit, use an audio-only file with one mono or stereo track. Video, surround-sound and multi-track files are unsupported. Changing a filename extension does not convert the audio. Importing, editing or exporting a file does not grant rights to someone else’s recordings.
Does AudioFolio remove background noise or balance volume?
No. AudioFolio trims, arranges and joins recordings. It does not currently provide noise removal, volume matching or voice enhancement.
